James Brinkerhoff’s Wind River Resources (WRR) is the developer of the Palm Orchard. James found the property five years ago, during one of his frequent visits to his favorite Baja town, Todos Santos. He heard about this 20-acre palm orchard created on the coastline by California horticulturalists, who cultivated 15,000 palm trees from exotic tropical species.
The moment he set foot on the Palm Orchard James knew it was a unique property. “It was magic to me,” he says. “One of the most beautiful places I had ever seen.” With 25 years of experience as a land developer and commercial builder in Mexico and the U.S., he knew what it would take to actualize his vision.
He would start with friends – share his Palm Orchard vision, and invite them to invest. The community would grow from there. The Orchard investors all own a lot in the Orchard and share the dream of owning a beachfront home, enjoying the Orchard amenities and the solitude of the endless San Pedrito beach.
One of the first friends he went to was internationally renowned land planner, Don Vita. “I couldn’t believe this was Baja; an amazing site! Everything you could ever dream of for landscaping was already there. I wanted in immediately. The only catch – Jimmy had to let me design the Master Plan.”

The architecture of the Palm Orchard will be designed to blend seamlessly with the oasis environment that includes twenty thousand palm trees, giant birds of paradise, and thousands of other indigenous and exotic plant species. An emphasis will be on moderate, sustainable design, utilizing local building materials and renewable energy whenever possible.
